Bucket elevator is a continuous vertical bulk material handling equipment. Buckets fixed on endless traction members (belt or chain) scoop materials at the boot section and lift materials vertically inside the fully enclosed casing. It is designed for high-height vertical conveying of dry bulk solids.
Featuring small floor space, the unit adopts fully sealed housing to effectively contain dust and reduce material spillage. It is widely used for continuous vertical lifting of powder, granular and small lump bulk materials.
Main types include belt bucket elevator (TD type), ring chain bucket elevator (TH type) and plate chain bucket elevator (NE type). Carbon steel or stainless steel material options are available for ordinary, abrasive and mildly corrosive working conditions. HDPE plastic buckets are optional for food-grade and low-abrasion applications.
Bucket assembly: Material-carrying buckets are the core working components. Deep buckets, shallow buckets and triangular buckets are selectable for different material flow characteristics. Buckets are firmly mounted on the traction belt or chain.
Traction assembly: Two main traction solutions – rubber belt or steel chain. Belt type works for light, low-temperature materials; chain type is for heavy, high-temperature and highly abrasive materials.
Casing assembly: Sealed metal housing consisting of head section, intermediate casings and boot section. Fully-enclosed design prevents dust emission and material leakage. Inspection hatches are reserved for routine maintenance and inspection. Stainless steel casing meets anti-corrosion and sanitary requirements.
Drive & tension unit: Motor-reducer assembly provides driving torque. Head wheel and boot wheel drive the traction loop. Tension device installed at the base keeps proper tension of belt or chain to avoid slipping. Anti-backstop device prevents material fallback during shutdown.
Inlet & outlet: Standard feeding port at the boot section and discharge port at the head section. Customised inlet/outlet orientation can be supplied to match your process layout.

Commonly used in building materials, cement, chemical, grain, feed, mining and environmental-protection industries for vertical lifting of powder, granular and small lump materials. Suitable for conditions as below: Processes requiring high vertical lifting height and strict dust control; Limited installation space demanding compact vertical equipment layout; Production flows transferring bulk materials into silos or next-stage processing machines; Dry abrasive or mildly corrosive materials, where stainless steel or wear-resistant buckets are preferred.
Define material properties: particle size, moisture content, abrasiveness and corrosiveness to decide traction type, bucket and casing material. Confirm required hourly capacity, total lifting height and material temperature. Lifting height and throughput directly determine model selection and drive power. Not recommended for highly sticky, wet or caking materials which easily adhere to buckets and cause blockage. Specify special requirements such as explosion-proof, food-grade, wear protection or CE certification. Check site layout and reserved maintenance space for head and boot sections.
