Product Description

Screw Conveyor

Product Overview

Screw conveyor is a closed‑type bulk material handling equipment. Rotating screw blades push materials forward inside the housing. It supports horizontal and low‑angle inclined conveying; certain models are capable of vertical lifting.

Featuring compact footprint, the unit can be fully enclosed to minimize dust emission. It is widely adopted for continuous transfer of powder and granular bulk solids.

Main housing types include U‑type screw conveyor and tubular screw conveyor. Carbon steel or stainless steel material options are available for ordinary, damp and mildly corrosive working conditions.

Main Structure & Key Features

  • Screw blade assembly: The rotating screw blade is the core working component to propel materials. Solid screw, ribbon flight and other blade types are selectable for different materials.
  • Housing assembly: U‑trough or tubular casing. Fully‑enclosed design reduces material leakage and dust escape. Stainless steel housing meets anti‑corrosion and sanitary requirements.
  • Drive unit: Motor‑reducer assembly supplies torque. End bearings and intermediate hanger bearings support smooth rotation of screw shaft.
  • Flexible inlet & outlet: Feeding and discharging ports can be arranged along housing length to realize multi‑point feeding or multi‑point discharging.
  • Multiple installation layouts: Horizontal installation, inclined installation are common; vertical screw conveyor can lift materials upward.

Typical Application

Commonly used in building materials, chemical, grain, mining and environmental‑protection industries for powder and granular material transport. Suitable for conditions as below:

  1. Processes requiring enclosed conveying and strict dust control;
  2. Limited installation space demanding compact equipment footprint;
  3. Production flows that need multi‑point feeding or multi‑point discharging;
  4. Damp or mildly corrosive materials, where stainless steel version is preferred
  5. Screw Conveyor

Selection Notes

  1. Define material properties: particle size, moisture, abrasiveness and corrosiveness to decide housing and blade material.
  2. Confirm conveying length, required capacity and inclination angle. Actual throughput will decrease as inclination angle increases.
  3. Not recommended for highly sticky, caking or long stringy materials which may cause screw jamming.
  4. Clarify quantity and position of inlets and outlets, select proper drive power and bearing configuration.

Conclusion

With compact structure, dust‑tight performance and flexible layout, screw conveyor is a universal solution for industrial bulk material conveying. Stable material transfer can be achieved when properly matched with material characteristics and site conditions.
